Bamburi
Bamburi is one of Mombasa's most popular areas in terms of tourism and entertainment. There are a host of resorts, lodges, bars, shops and other activities in the area; as well as a variety of businesses and industries.
Bamburi Cement, one of Kenya's largest cement production companies, is located here. Just north of the cement factory is Haller Park (which used to be called the Bamburi Nature Trail). The park was an initiative br Rene Heller in 1971 with the support of Bamburi Portland Cement to rehabilitiate over 80 acres of quarry.
The Park is home to a variety of flora and fauna including crocodile, hippo, waterbuck, oryx, eland, various monkeys, a host of birds and interesting trees and plants.
The two main beaches in the Bamburi area are Bamburi Beach and Kenyatta Beach.
